Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Administrator to join our team at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical and clinical administration of our information systems and software, ensuring seamless operations and exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and maintenance for PACS systems, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement and optimize clinical workflows, improving patient outcomes and staff efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, policies, and procedures related to clinical operations and information systems.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care and staff satisfaction.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and regulatory requirements, applying this knowledge to improve our clinical operations and information systems.
Requirements
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field, or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.
  • Valid registration and membership in good standing with CMRTO.
  • Post-secondary education in healthcare or technology-related field.
  • CAHIMS or CPHIMS certification is an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a related field, working in a DI department within a large facility.
  • Experience in a hospital/diagnostic environment.
  • Knowledge of hospital and clinic workflow, routines, processes, and documentation requirements is an asset.
  • Experience in Health Informatics, Computer Science, and/or related fields is an asset.
  • Technical experience related to the use of information systems in a healthcare environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with Sectra PACS, Synapse CV, Powerscribe, and Meditech.
  • Understanding of Diagnostic Imaging department workflow and/or clinical work experience.
  • Ability to mentor and instruct users, incorporating different learning methods and styles.
  • Strong leadership, planning, and project management skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
