Radio/ISR Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Radio/ISR Specialist to assist the Technical Authority in implementation, validation, and certification of selected solutions and manage related issues such as system security, interoperability, interdependencies, and commonality.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform ISR tasks and provide specific advice and recommendations on all matters ISR, including operation of military surveillance data link equipment, integrating military surveillance data link equipment, system integration of cross-domain solutions, and implementation of encoders and transcoders.
- Manage ISR deliverables, reports, performance specifications, testing, and training, and ensure support and inform the TA on current and future ISR technologies, standards, policies, procedures, and their impacts.
- Collaborate with the Technical Authority to implement, validate, and certify selected solutions, and manage related issues such as system security, interoperability, interdependencies, and commonality.
Requirements
Must hold an undergraduate degree from a Canadian recognized university in Engineering or Sciences in a field relevant to the work, or a 2-year College diploma in the field of science and technology combined with a minimum of 8 years of combined experience within the last 10 years.
Must demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of experience within the last 10 years working in a Defence Major Capital Equipment Project (>$5M) and performed as at least one of the following: System engineer; System architect or designer; or Planning and implementation technical lead.
- Recent experience with UHF/VHF Radio and ISR.
- Experience within the last 8 years working in the implementation of Very High Frequency (VHF) and Ultra High Frequency (UHF) Air Traffic Management (ATM) radio systems, to include all equipment in the RF signal path from the radio to antenna(s).
- Experience within the last 8 years in the implementation of remotely operated VHF and UHF Air Defence (AD) radio systems, to include all equipment in the RF signal path from the radio to antenna(s).
- Experience within the last 8 years in implementing Voice over IP (VoIP) networking to operate AD and ATM radio systems.
- Experience within the last 8 years either directly employed or as an embedded contractor working within a National Defence Capital Project and/or Equipment Management Team within the Canadian Government.
- Experience within the last 8 years working within a Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) environment procuring, integrating, or maintaining ATM or AD communications equipment.
