Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator to join our team at Toronto Hydro Corporation. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining our database infrastructure, ensuring the efficient delivery of technical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Database Management: Implement and maintain database systems, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Performance Tuning: Analyze and optimize database performance to meet business requirements.
  • Capacity Planning: Plan and implement database capacity to meet growing business needs.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve database issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Disaster Recovery: Develop and implement disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
  • Security: Implement and maintain database security measures to protect against unauthorized access.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of database systems and processes.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in database administration, with a strong background in Oracle database administration.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
