Nurse Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Brightshores. As a key member of our inter-disciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care to individuals with acute mental health, addictions, dementia, and other neurological conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
- Conduct psycho-social and mental status assessments, including risk assessments
- Provide education and support to patients and their support persons
- Work collaboratively to achieve optimal patient outcomes in a safe and therapeutic environment
- Support positive transitions back to the community
Requirements:
- Current Ontario College of Nurses registration or eligibility
- Successful completion of CNA for Mental Health or willingness to obtain
- Recent Psychiatric Nursing experience within the past three years
- Working knowledge of Mental Health Act and the DSM-V-TR
- Valid non-violence crisis intervention Course
Preferred Qualifications:
- Baccalaureate degree in nursing
- Canadian Nursing Association Mental Health Nursing Certificate or eligibility
