Job Summary
Brightshores is seeking a skilled Nurse Specialist to join our Outpatient Mental Health team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for implementing and monitoring services to meet the needs of individuals with significant mental health issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor services to meet the needs of individuals with significant mental health issues.
- Function independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Work cooperatively with multiple service providers.
- Travel throughout the catchment area to deliver programs and meet the needs of clients.
- Manage a case management caseload.
Requirements
- Registration with the Ontario College of Nurses as a Registered Nurse.
- CNA Certification in Psychiatry and Mental Health Nursing.
- 5 years recent experience working with a similar population in an outpatient setting.
- Current CPI training.
- CPR basic certification.
- Knowledge of Recovery Principles.
- Knowledge of current psychiatric medications.
- Knowledge of and experience in Cognitive Behavior Therapy.
- Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and familiarity with DSM.
- Access to reliable transportation.
- Possession of a valid Ontario Class "G" Driver's License and personal vehicle.
- Ability to work co-operatively in a multidisciplinary team setting.
- Knowledge of psychosocial rehab model.
- Ability to work all shifts, including weekends; ability for multi-site coverage when required.
- Recent satisfactory performance and attendance record.
- Adherence to Brightshores' CARE Behaviours and LEAD Competencies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Baccalaureate degree in nursing.
