Medical Imaging Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Imaging Nurse to join our team at Fraser Health Authority. As a Medical Imaging Nurse, you will be responsible for providing direct nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic imaging and interventional procedures. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest level of patient care and safety.
Responsibilities- Assess and monitor patients' physical and psycho-social needs, identifying problems and developing care plans to ensure comfort and safety during procedures.
- Provide individualized nursing care to patients with variable complexities of illnesses or injuries, including those requiring interventional procedures.
- Assist radiologists during procedures, setting up equipment, administering medications, and monitoring patient vital signs.
- Perform a variety of health care interventions, including administering blood products and oxygen therapy, and maintaining critical care safety protocols.
- Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families, providing emotional support and education on specific procedures and post-procedure care.
- Anticipate and respond to unexpected critical situations during procedures, initiating cardiopulmonary resuscitation and administering medication as needed.
- Organize priorities in response to fluctuating workload volumes and patient treatment requirements, collaborating with team members to ensure seamless care.
- Consult with and collaborate with peers and other caregivers to identify and resolve patient/family care issues, ethical dilemmas, and coordination and integration of care.
- Document patient/family perspectives, nursing observations, and activities that support patient/family priorities, maintaining complete and accurate records.
We require a current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), completion of a recognized high acuity specialty nursing certificate, and one year of recent related interventional medical imaging experience. You must also possess current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
