Landscape Worker Job Description

RTJ Landscaping is seeking a skilled Landscape Worker to join our team. As a key member of our outdoor workforce, you will be responsible for maintaining the beauty and functionality of our clients' outdoor spaces.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with landscape constructions, including planting, pruning, and trimming trees and plants.
  • Tie and secure plants, ensuring they are properly anchored and secure.
  • Weed, prune, and trim trees and plants to maintain their health and appearance.
  • Cut grass and other vegetation to maintain a neat and tidy appearance.
  • Rake and collect refuse, ensuring our clients' outdoor spaces are free from debris.
  • Remove litter and garbage, keeping our clients' properties clean and safe.
  • Cart and spread topsoil and other materials, as needed.
  • Lay sod or seed, ensuring a lush and vibrant appearance.
  • Plant bulbs, flowers, shrubs, and trees, adding beauty and life to our clients' outdoor spaces.
  • Apply fertilizers, as needed, to promote healthy plant growth.
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens, ensuring they receive the care they need to thrive.
  • Operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment, ensuring it is in good working order.
  • Remove trees, as needed, to maintain our clients' outdoor spaces.
Work Environment:

As a Landscape Worker, you will work outdoors in a variety of environments, including hotels, motels, resorts, golf courses, sports fields, urban and rural areas, and private residences. You will be exposed to wet/damp, noisy, odorous, dusty, and hot conditions, as well as fast-paced and physically demanding work.

  • You must be a team player, able to work collaboratively with our team to achieve our goals.
  • Punctuality and a strong work ethic are required.
  • You must be able to lift heavy loads and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Attention to detail and hand-eye coordination are necessary for this role.
  • You must be able to distinguish between colors and work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking positions.
  • Bending, crouching, and kneeling are also required.
