Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Produce Manager Assistant to join our team at Fortinos. As a key member of our produce department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring the efficient functioning of the department, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide courteous and personalized service to customers, ensuring a positive shopping experience and maintaining our reputation for friendly and effective customer service.
  • Department Management: Assist in the directing and supervising of produce staff to secure efficient and courteous customer service, and ensure that all produce staff are trained and equipped to provide exceptional service.
  • Merchandising and Display: Assist in the set-up and maintenance of the produce department, including the creation of attractive and appealing displays, and the effective merchandising of produce.
  • Ordering and Inventory: Assist in the writing and receiving of produce orders, checking invoices, and unloading and distributing merchandise accordingly.
  • Display Maintenance: Fill, rotate, and maintain displays to ensure that the quality of produce meets company standards.
  • Training and Development: Assist in the training of new staff, and provide ongoing training and development opportunities to ensure that all staff are equipped to provide exceptional service.
  • Problem-Solving: Solve any customer or employee complaints or problems that may arise, and provide a positive and professional resolution.
Requirements
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years' produce experience in a retail produce environment, with good knowledge of greens, fresh fruits, the salad bar, and bulk foods.
  • Skills: Exceptional customer service skills, excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
