Job Title: Education Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Education Assistant to join our team at Headway School Society of Alberta.

Job Summary:

The Education Assistant will provide support to students with diverse needs, assisting them with their educational and personal development. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our students and contribute to a collaborative and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist students with their educational and personal needs, including accompanying them during school and extracurricular activities.
  • Support teachers in the classroom, helping with tasks such as preparing materials, supervising students, and reinforcing learning concepts.
  • Monitor and report student progress to teachers, providing valuable insights to inform instruction.
  • Assist with classroom inventory, ensuring that materials and resources are organized and accessible.
  • Supervise students during recess and lunch hour, promoting a safe and respectful environment.
  • Assist students with special needs, using techniques such as sign language, braille, and remedial programs.
Requirements:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Permanent position, working 30 to 40 hours per week.
  • Fluency in English.
