Job Title: Education Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Education Assistant to join our team at Headway School Society of Alberta.

Job Summary:

The Education Assistant will provide support to students with diverse needs, assisting them with their academic and personal development. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our students and contribute to a collaborative and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist students with their academic work, including reading, writing, and math
  • Support students with special needs, using techniques such as sign language and braille
  • Accompany students during school and extracurricular activities
  • Monitor students during recess and lunch hour
  • Assist with classroom inventory and organization
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement individualized learning plans
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Permanent employment
  • 30 to 40 hours per week
  • English language proficiency
