Job Title: Medical Policy Nurse

Canadian Addiction Treatment Centres is seeking a compassionate and caring Medical Policy Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will be responsible for developing and delivering harm reduction and supportive treatment modalities for patients with opiate dependency.

About the Position:

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, thrive in a team environment, and be able to understand the challenges our patients and their families face. You will operate professionally, ethically, and with integrity within the guidelines and standards of the Ontario College of Nurses and adhere to the highest standards of medical practice.

Responsibilities:
  • Dispense and administer medications as delegated by a licensed Physician.
  • Perform ECGs, venipuncture, urine drug screening supervision, and testing.
  • Administer injections and ensure proper documentation of injection numbers consistent with documented protocols.
  • Communicate with Physician regarding patient needs, change in status, and all emergency situations.
  • Provide comprehensive program information to current and prospective patients.
  • Scheduling, information entry, and assessment, data management, and document management.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a Diploma in Registered Practical Nursing or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • Previous experience in addiction treatment and/or a similar field.
  • Completes yearly CNO Quality Assurance certification.
  • Phlebotomy and Electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) are an asset.
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certification is required.
