Clinic Nurse Position at Canadian Addiction Treatment Centres

The Canadian Addiction Treatment Centres (CATC) is currently seeking a compassionate and caring individual to fill a part-time permanent position as a Clinic Nurse at the Northern Treatment Centre. This role offers 15 hours of work per week, with a competitive hourly rate of $29.00.

As a member of the high-performing CARE team, the Clinic Nurse will be responsible for delivering harm reduction and supportive treatment modalities for patients with opiate dependency. The ideal candidate will possess a Diploma in Registered Practical Nursing or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and have previous experience in addiction treatment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer medications and ensure proper documentation
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care
  • Perform ECGs, venipuncture, and other vital signs
  • Administer injections and maintain accurate records
  • Communicate effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals
  • Provide patients with comprehensive program information and support
  • Update patient information within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
Requirements:
  • Current membership in good standing with the College of Nurses in Ontario
  • Previous experience in addiction treatment and a strong commitment to working with individuals living with addiction
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certification
  • Proficiency in Microsoft platform and ability to learn new software
