Clinic Nurse Role at Canadian Addiction Treatment Centres

The Canadian Addiction Treatment Centres (CATC) is in search of a dedicated and empathetic professional to fill the role of Clinic Nurse at the Northern Treatment Centre. This part-time permanent position encompasses 15 hours of work each week, with a competitive compensation of $29.00 per hour.


As an integral member of the esteemed CARE team, the Clinic Nurse will be tasked with providing harm reduction strategies and supportive treatment options for individuals grappling with opiate dependency. The ideal candidate should hold a Diploma in Registered Practical Nursing or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, along with prior experience in the field of addiction treatment.


Primary Responsibilities:
  • Administer and dispense medications
  • Collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team
  • Conduct ECGs, venipuncture, and monitor vital signs
  • Provide injections and maintain accurate documentation
  • Engage in communication with Physicians
  • Deliver comprehensive program information to patients
  • Update patient records within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system

Qualifications:
  • Active member in good standing with the College of Nurses in Ontario
  • Previous experience in the addiction treatment sector
  • Current certification in First Aid and CPR
  • Strong dedication to supporting individuals facing addiction challenges
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
