Job Title: Educational Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Educational Assistant to join our team at the Upper Canada District School Board. As an Educational Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with exceptional needs within our schools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to students with exceptional needs in an academic and/or integrated class environment
  • Oversee special education students and implement special education programs related to behaviour, communication, intellectual or physical needs
  • Support the instruction of individual and/or groups of students in an academic and/or integrated class environment
  • Implement Behaviour Management Systems (BMS) training/certification as an asset
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Secondary school diploma and two year or three year Community College Diploma in one of the following: Child & Youth Worker, Registered Early Childhood Educator, Behavioural Science Technician, Educational Assistant, Developmental Services Worker or Social Service Worker, Registered Nurse, Registered Nursing Assistant or Registered Practical Nurse
  • Bachelor Degrees in Child Studies, Sociology and Psychology will be recognized
