">Job Summary
">The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing patients' communication and swallowing abilities, developing and implementing evidence-based treatment plans, and collaborating with interprofessional care teams to achieve optimal health outcomes. A strong knowledge of speech language pathology theory and practice, as well as excellent communication and teaching skills, are essential for this role.
">Key Responsibilities

- Assessment and Treatment Planning">
Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' communication and swallowing abilities, identify needs and goals, and develop individualized treatment plans based on best practices and research evidence.
">">Clinical Practice">Implement and evaluate treatment plans using a variety of techniques and interventions, including standardized tests and measures, and ensure that all interventions are aligned with patient needs and goals.
">">Interprofessional Collaboration">Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care, share knowledge and expertise, and contribute to the development of care plans that address the unique needs of each patient.
">">Education and Consultation">Provide education and consultation to patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals on topics related to communication and swallowing disorders, and support the development of self-management skills and strategies.
">">Quality Improvement">Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures that promote safe and effective practice.
">">Qualifications
">To be considered for this role, applicants must possess:

- Current registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC">
- Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program">
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teaching skills">
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team">
- Knowledge of current research evidence and best practices in speech language pathology">
- Strong organizational and time management skills">
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position">
