Job Summary

Vaco is seeking a highly experienced Senior Legal Clerk to join our team. As a key member of our commercial mortgage operations team, you will be responsible for preparing and negotiating loan documents, engaging service providers, and reviewing due diligence packages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Loan Document Preparation: Prepare and negotiate letters of intent, commitment letters, and loan documents in compliance with credit requirements.
  • Due Diligence Management: Engage service providers to complete property and legal due diligence, and review due diligence packages to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Service Provider Coordination: Work closely with borrowers, originators, and underwriters to initiate requests for information and documentation concerning the closing of each loan file.
  • Closing Support: Provide support to borrowers and originators/underwriters by reviewing closing documents and providing instructions to legal counsel in negotiation of loan documents.
  • Financial Management: Prepare and balance closing numbers, requisition funds, and arrange funding wires.
  • Reconciliation: Reconcile mortgage loan files to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of legal admin experience working closely with commercial mortgages with a lender or a law firm.
