About the Role

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Mental Health Worker to join our team at Chapman House in Sechelt, BC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide care and support to individuals with severe and persistent psychiatric illness.
  • Participate in case planning and develop individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each client.
  • Provide supportive counseling, demonstrations, and behavioral management to assist clients in developing physical, social, emotional, and life skills.
  • Act as an advocate to assist clients in resolving conflicts and other problems with external organizations.
  • Implement care plans, observe client behavior and symptoms, and provide feedback regarding client needs, performance, and progress.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Community Social Service or a related field.
  • Two years of recent experience working with individuals with severe and persistent psychiatric illness or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid BC Driver's License and a reliable vehicle.
  • Valid CPR and First Aid certificates.
