Mental Health Nurse

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Mental Health and Substance Use Nurse to join our team at Sechelt Hospital in Sechelt, BC.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individualized direct nursing care to clients with severe and persistent mental illness, concurrent disorders, and/or dementia.
- Develop and implement individualized strength-based treatment plans in collaboration with other healthcare providers.
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor client response.
- Prepare and maintain accurate client records.
- Participate in team meetings and quality improvement activities.
Sechelt Hospital is a 46-bed acute care facility serving over 30,000 residents of the Lower Sunshine Coast. We provide a range of services, including emergency care, renal program, mental health and substance use services, surgical services, and imaging services.
Qualifications- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives.
- Completion of a minimum 6-week or 240-hour clinical practicum in a mental health setting.
