Job Title: Nephrologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Nephrologist to join our team at The Hospital for Sick Children. As a Nephrologist, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating patients with kidney diseases and disorders.

Job Summary:
  • Diagnose and treat patients with kidney diseases and disorders
  • Conduct medical research on human disorders, illnesses, preventive or curative methods
  • Prescribe medication and treatment
  • Refer patients for surgery
  • Prepare research papers for publication and presentation
  • Study the nature, cause and development of diseases and the structural and functional changes caused by diseases
  • Act as consultants to other physicians
  • Order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures
Responsibilities:
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Work under pressure to make critical decisions
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for patients
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research and advancements
Requirements:
  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree
  • Completion of a nephrology fellowship program
  • Board certification in nephrology
  • Current licensure to practice medicine in the province of Ontario
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
