About the Role

The Team Lead, Data Engineering will be responsible for leading a group of Data Engineers and Analysts, including hiring, onboarding, and training new team members. This individual will direct data projects and vision, requiring someone who can partner with product management and others to design and build scalable, low-latency data platforms.

This role demands proven experience in a team lead or project management position, demonstrating the ability to effectively guide and motivate team members while managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers and analysts responsible for designing, building, and operating our growing data platform.
  • Support our Data Science, Analytics, and Machine Learning teams as well as externally facing product applications.
  • Mentor Data Engineers and Analysts to improve and maintain data platforms, pipelines, and tools to keep pace with the growth of our data and its consumers.
  • Recruit technical talent and build a world-class Data Engineering team.

This role requires a strong leader who can define systems and software architecture using modern patterns and frameworks, adopt modern platforms, and manage resources effectively to optimize value.

About You

We are seeking an experienced professional with at least 8 years of extensive experience in data engineering. Your expertise should include Python, AWS, Snowflake, and SQL, as well as experience working in a Linux environment and with ETL processes and unstructured data.

You will be passionate about technology and building a strong, motivated team of engineers. A salary of $150,000 - $180,000 per year is estimated for this position, based on industry standards and location considerations.
