Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Construction Contract Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert contract management services to clients across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Forensic reviews of baseline and progress construction schedules to provide input to project teams.
  • Development of risk registers and key contractual obligations from contract reviews.
  • Review of prime contracts to determine obligations, liabilities, and highlight risks.
  • Management of contract administration processes and results.
  • Interpretation of prime contract language.
  • Development of contract management activities to ensure compliance with prime contracts.
  • Management of contract reporting activities and identification of deliverables.
  • Development of correspondence with clients as necessary to request changes and modifications to meet project requirements.
  • Assistance in negotiations concerning changes.
  • Timely and accurate contractual correspondence.
  • Negotiation of change orders, variations, and change issues.
  • Claims avoidance and management, including preparation of claims submissions.
  • Analytical review of bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Negotiation of subcontracts and purchase orders.
  • Maintenance of excellent relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and the public.
  • Liaison with project teams on various matters as required.
  • Development and implementation of district-wide best practices and policies.
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in construction management or related field.
  • 8+ years' leadership experience in the construction industry.
  • A strong background in contract management.
  • Ability to use MS Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project, and Primavera P6.
  • Excellent financial and numeracy management skills.
  • Working knowledge of contract language and legal requirements of contracts.
  • Ability to forge, grow, and maintain positive relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet time demands of unpredictable activities.
  • Strong project management, organisational, and investigative skills.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills at multiple levels.
