About the Opportunity

The Bank of Canada is seeking a highly skilled Financial Planning and Advisory Expert to join our Strategic & Financial Advice (SFA) business line. This exciting role will provide you with the opportunity to leverage your expertise in financial management and planning to make a meaningful impact on our organization.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced professional to lead budget planning, forecasting, and reporting for our departments. As a key member of our team, you will monitor and analyze departmental budgets, identifying trends, impacts, and mitigation strategies to ensure effective corporate planning and management of financial resources.

Main Responsibilities

  • Leverage your expertise in financial management and planning to provide strategic advice and guidance to departmental leadership teams.
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models that align with our financial framework and consider the stewardship of public funds.
  • Act as an advocate for understanding cost drivers and cost control, ensuring key business performance risks, issues, and opportunities are highlighted to relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective corporate plans and strategies.

Requirements

  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience in financial planning and advisory roles.
  • A university degree in a related field, such as finance, accounting, or business administration.
  • A recognized Canadian accounting designation (CPA, CA/CPA, CMA/CPA, CGA) or equivalent certification.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex information effectively.
  • A strong focus on outcomes and demonstrated ability to manage changing priorities.

Benefits and Compensation

This position offers a competitive salary range of $90,535 to $106,512, based on qualifications and experience. In addition, you can expect a comprehensive benefits package, including flexible health and dental coverage, extra vacation days, and the option to join our indexed, defined-benefit pension plan after 24 months of service.
