About the Opportunity

The Upper Grand District School Board is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join our Finance team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the Board's financial planning and analysis functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Processes and Documentation: Partner with the Project Manager - ERP to identify specific changes to finance policy and practice to ensure compliance and alignment with the Board's Multi-Year Plan and desired future state.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Enter data into the financial systems of the Board based on source documents and spreadsheet analysis, process various financial transactions, and update financial systems to provide accurate and timely information for internal and external reporting requirements.
  • ERP Project Support: Partner with the Project Manager - ERP and other stakeholders to provide clarity and documentation on finance processes to ensure the successful transition to other systems with no disruption to service.
Requirements
  • Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma: In Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5-7 Years of Experience: In accounting, budgeting, and auditing, with a recognized Professional Accounting Designation (CPA).
  • Project Management Experience: Demonstrated experience in project management, with a strong understanding of financial systems and report preparations.
  • Advanced Knowledge: Of analysis tools such as advanced functions of Power BI, financial systems, and report preparations.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to communicate financial information to non-financial internal clients and articulate functionality of technology solutions to business and IT teams at various levels.
What We Offer

The Upper Grand District School Board offers a competitive salary range of $100,914 to $121,029 per year, a 40-hour workweek, and a 12-month permanent, full-time contract.
