Senior Financial Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to join our team at Magna International Inc. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for preparing complex financial reports, providing financial analysis and support to department leaders, and liaising with auditors and operational personnel.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a drive for continuous learning and self-improvement, possessing excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Your Responsibilities- Financial Statement Analysis: Review and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Financial Control and Reporting: Maintain financial control of banking and balance sheet account reconciliations, and ensure timely and consistent recording and summarization of financial data.
- Government Reporting: Prepare and maintain all government reporting, including HST, WSIB, EHT, and Fuel Charge.
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Assist with the preparation and review of monthly financial statements, and provide financial analysis and support to operations groups.
- Payroll and Accounts Payable: Prepare and maintain payroll-related journal entries and reconciliations, and ensure timely payment of invoices.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and audit spare parts inventory sub-ledger, reconcile and audit process.
- Internal Controls and Audits: Assist in the annual SOX and internal control audits compilation, review process, and liaise with auditors.
- Capital and Tooling Requirements: Cross-train and provide backup support for capital and tooling requirements, including Kepion.
- Other Projects and Duties: Undertake other projects as assigned by the Controller, and perform other duties as required.
- CPA Designation: Must hold a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
- Manufacturing Accounting Experience: Minimum 2+ years of manufacturing accounting experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Financial Analysis and Budgeting: Extensive background in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cost accounting.
- Advanced Excel Skills: Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Macros, and VLOOKUP.
- Experience with PowerBI and Infor XA: Experience working with PowerBI and Infor XA, and One Stream.
- Excellent Communication and Analytical Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong investigative and analytical skills.
- Ability to Investigate and Problem-Solve: Ability to investigate and problem-solve independently, and conduct deep dive analysis with large volumes of data.
