The Academic Services Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting student success and retention at the Lassonde School of Engineering. This position is responsible for coordinating and administering student academic petitions and appeals processes, providing general student advising and support, and serving as the primary resource support person to the Faculty Petitions & Appeals Sub-Committee.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate administrative processes and committee support for student academic petitions and appeals.
- Provide accurate and timely information to students and staff regarding academic policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Assess student academic records and provide guidance on degree requirements and academic legislation.
- Support the academic advising team in providing guidance and advice to students on academic petitions and appeals.
- Act as the primary resource support person to the Faculty Petitions & Appeals Sub-Committee, including organizing meetings and facilitating petition panel hearings.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Three years of experience in a student services area, including coordinating administrative processes, committee support, and minute-taking.
- Experience in post-secondary student judicial affairs or petitions, appeals, or academic misconduct procedures and processes.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion.
- Ability to work independently in an environment of competing priorities and constant interruption.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and email software.
This position will be hybrid, with 2 days remote work. You will be working in a fast-paced environment with a high level of confidentiality and discretion required.
