We are seeking an experienced Construction Purchasing Manager to join our team in this critical role, ensuring the timely procurement of materials and services while maintaining cost-effectiveness and efficiency.

Job Summary:

  • Proactively support and champion Alliston Group's Estimating and Purchasing tasks by creating/maintaining vendor relationships and actively seeking opportunities for cost savings.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with vendors and suppliers to secure favorable terms and prices.
  • Monitor material usage in the field to prevent overages and shortages, ensuring accurate takeoffs and assemblies.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Team to create custom price requests and calculate budgets in a timely manner.
  • Liaise between Estimating, Construction, Design, Accounting, and Sales teams to ensure accurate information for production.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ongoing job set-up, maintenance, and reviews in Homefront software.
  2. Implement and train other departments on Homefront usage.
  3. Complete and review tenders, daily reviewing cost estimates from vendors.
  4. Create and maintain accurate material takeoffs, monitoring material usage in the field.
  5. Develop model and option estimates, assemblies, and complete custom price requests for Sales.
  6. Manage issuance of POs and VPOs, procuring vendors and suppliers, and assisting with contract negotiations.
  7. Analyze budgets, variances, trends, and post-occupancy incurred costs.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in construction purchasing/estimating, preferably with a home builder.
  • Civil Engineering Technology, Construction, or Architectural Technology diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Able to work under pressure with tight deadlines, handling large volumes of data efficiently.
  • Sincere desire to provide top-notch support and customer service, with a proven ability to work competently in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, you will be entitled to comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
