We are seeking a skilled Head Chef to join our team at Edo Japan. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our kitchen, ensuring that all dishes meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
Responsibilities:- Plan and prepare menus, estimating food requirements to minimize waste and maximize efficiency
- Cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, adhering to our culinary standards
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food to ensure consistency and quality
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment to optimize stock levels and reduce waste
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Familiarity with Japanese cuisine and cooking techniques
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines
- Physically demanding, requiring prolonged standing and manual labor
- Repetitive tasks and exposure to hot environments
- Client-focused attitude with excellent customer service skills
- Dependable and reliable, with a strong sense of responsibility
- Flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances
- Initiative to take on new challenges and improve processes
