Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Customer Account Analyst to join our team at Halifax Regional Municipality. As a key member of our Revenue division, you will be responsible for managing, monitoring, analyzing, and reconciling all revenue streams, including municipal charges and other fees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Account Billing: Manage the timely and accurate billing of all general revenue accounts, including revenues generated through the administration of municipal by-laws and regulations.
  • Accounts Receivable Management: Monitor customer accounts and initiate timely collection processes based on established procedures.
  • Other Responsibilities: Train team members in general revenue and provide training to other business units as required, monitor municipal management agreements to ensure compliance, and prepare legal indentures and maintain database for cemetery indentures and cremation charges.
Requirements
  • Education & Experience: Grade 12 education, diploma in business, public administration, or related field, and three to five years' experience in accounting, accounts receivable, and collections.
  • Technical/Job Specific Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent customer service skills, thorough knowledge of billing, collection, and accounting procedures, and proficiency in Windows-based environment, spreadsheet, database, word processing, and email applications.
