Director Business Development

MarshallZehr Group Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Business Development to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for identifying new clients and building a sales pipeline of qualified developer opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver suitable risk-adjusted lending opportunities matching with lender investment mandates.
- Ensure borrowers understand the nature of the obligations they are committing to when entering a mortgage agreement with our lenders.
- Project evaluation and underwriting, including obtaining and evaluating borrower project-specific financing information and providing in-depth research materials to support market conditions and potential legislative/regulatory changes.
- Communicate with borrower and lender stakeholders/clients to outline project strengths and weaknesses and respond to questions as necessary.
- Drive the execution of financing transaction closings.
- Project monitoring/loan compliance, including ongoing monitoring of project performance against loan agreements, budget, timelines, and key metrics.
- 5+ years' experience in business development or account management in the real estate lending/mortgage industry or finance.
- Strong understanding of the construction and development process, associated financing metrics, and financial modeling skills.
- Experience drafting and reviewing legal financing documents.
- Mortgage Agent License (if not currently licensed, MarshallZehr will cover the cost of obtaining the license).
