As a lecturer at LaSalle College, you will be responsible for providing theoretical and practical teaching in Special Education Techniques (TES) or Early Childhood Education Techniques (TEE). This role includes designing educational programs, facilitating course sessions, evaluating students, and supporting them in their academic career. Your role may also involve contributing to research in your area of expertise. You will work with a diverse clientele, including children and youth with learning challenges, while developing interventions and strategies to meet their needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow up with students on internships, guide them in knowledge translation, and help them overcome difficulties in the workplace.
  • Observe, evaluate, and give constructive feedback on the performance of trainees in relation to pedagogical objectives, in collaboration with supervisors.
  • Serve as a link between the school and internship sites to solve problems and ensure a positive learning environment.
  • Document progress, record evaluations, and write reports on the internship, in accordance with program requirements.
  • Encourage the development of students' professional and interpersonal skills with a view to their professional integration.
  • Any other related tasks.

Teaching Responsibilities:

  • Plan class sessions.
  • Deliver sessions in a dynamic, efficient, and structured manner.
  • Design formative and summative assessments according to the competency-based approach.
  • Administer evaluations and mark them.
  • Follow up with each student and encourage success.
  • Be available to students to promote their development of the skill targeted by the course.
  • Any other related tasks.

Requirements:

  • You must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Hold a university certificate or diploma or a college diploma, with an option or concentration in the discipline concerned.
  • Teach or have teaching experience in the discipline for a full session within the last five years.
  • Have worked in a trade or profession related to the discipline or course for at least two years.
