Job Title: Registered Nurse - Forensic Secure Unit

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is seeking a part-time, permanent Registered Nurse to work in our Forensic Secure Unit. As a member of our inter-professional team, you will provide client-centred psychiatric and general nursing care to patients in a secure environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide assessments, develop, implement, and evaluate inter-professional plans of care for forensic inpatients under the jurisdiction of the Ontario Review Board (ORB)
  • Liaise with other services in the Program and community agencies to coordinate care for clients
  • Utilize critical thinking, problem-solving, and customer service in your approach to care and service delivery
  • Work with clients from diverse populations and participate in clinical supervision
  • Contribute to program development and participate in unit safety and risk management activities
Requirements:
  • Member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current B.C.L.S. (CPR) certificate
  • Preference given to candidates with a B.Sc.N and CNA certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing
  • Forensic Nursing course and knowledge of risk assessment techniques an asset

This is a part-time, permanent position with a 0.3 commitment. Additional hours may be available based on operational needs. This position is part of the ONA Bargaining Unit.
