At the University Health Network, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our General Surgery team on 9ES. As a key member of our interdisciplinary patient care team, you will have the opportunity to provide high-quality, person-centered care to our patients and contribute to a culture of excellence and innovation.
Job SummaryThe Registered Nurse will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care to achieve optimal outcomes. You will work collaboratively with our interprofessional team to provide comprehensive care to patients with a range of surgical and non-surgical conditions, including gastrointestinal cancers, hepatobiliary diseases, and colorectal disorders.
Responsibilities- Assess patients' physical and emotional needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans to meet their unique requirements.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide high-quality, patient-centered care, promoting a culture of safety and respect.
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices and advancements in surgical care.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of unit-based initiatives to improve patient outcomes and enhance the patient experience.
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently within an interdisciplinary patient care team.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, and weekends.
