Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Micro-Electromechanical Assembler to join our Satellite systems team in Montreal.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing assembly of micro-electromechanical products according to structured work processes. This will involve soldering on substrates, selecting substrates, and measuring electrical components, as well as performing electric joints and contacts with welded wires or ribbons.

Key Responsibilities

  • Solder on substrates and select the correct substrate for the task
  • Measure electrical components and perform electric joints and contacts
  • Affix substrates on a base or box using a pre-programmed oven
  • Mount components to a base or circuit
  • Prepare components for encapsulation
  • Prepare, handle, and use polymeric products to bond components
  • Perform sealing and leak tests for boxes
  • Use equipment for hybrid sorting
  • Assemble elements in boxes
  • Inspect and validate compliance of tasks
  • Support Research and Development
  • Perform all other related tasks

Requirements

  • High school diploma, college diploma, or diploma of vocational studies in electronics, mechanics, or equivalent
  • Two to five years of relevant experience
  • Basic knowledge of English is an asset
  • Plan reading and basic knowledge of tolerances and geometrical dimensions
  • Ability to recover and enter data with a computer system
  • Use of production databases
  • Basic knowledge to operate manual or semi-automatic equipment for microelectronic assembly
  • Good knowledge of French
  • Fine manual dexterity
  • Ability to work with a microscope

Security Clearance

Candidates must be able to obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level and pass the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) assessment.
