About the Role


We are seeking an experienced Micro-Electromechanical Assembler to join our Satellite systems team at our Montreal office.


The successful candidate will perform assembly of micro-electromechanical products according to structured work processes.


Key Responsibilities



  • Solder on the substrate, select the substrate, and measure electrical components.
  • Perform electric joints and contacts with welded wires or ribbons (microwiring, parallel welding and beam leads).
  • Affix substrates on a base or box using a pre-programmed oven.
  • Mount components to a base or circuit.
  • Prepare components for encapsulation.
  • Prepare, handle and use polymeric products to bond components.
  • Proceed with sealing and leak tests for boxes.
  • Use equipment for hybrid sorting.
  • Proceed with the assembly of elements in the boxes.
  • Check the product.
  • Inspect, check and validate compliance of certain tasks done by colleagues.
  • Support Research and Development.
  • All other related tasks.

Requirements



  • High school diploma, college diploma or diploma of vocational studies in one of the following fields: electronics, mechanics or equivalent.
  • Two (2) to Five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • Basic knowledge of English is an asset.
  • Plan Reading.
  • Basic knowledge of the principle of tolerances and geometrical dimensions.
  • Ability to recover and enter data with a computer system.
  • Use of production databases.
  • The candidate has the basic knowledge to operate one or several manual or semi-automatic equipment for microelectronic assembly.
  • Good knowledge of French.
  • Fine manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work with a microscope.

Security Clearance


The successful candidate must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
