Role Overview:

Equitable Life of Canada is seeking a skilled Senior Underwriter to join our Individual Insurance team. As a Senior Underwriter, you will play a critical role in risk assessment for life and critical illness products, ensuring the highest level of quality and accuracy in your work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply strong underwriting expertise in medical, financial, and non-medical risk factors
  • Manage daily work volumes independently to meet service standards
  • Provide exceptional client experiences
  • Comply with legislative requirements and consumer regulations
  • Contribute to the continuous enhancement of underwriting processes and procedures
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to other underwriters

Requirements:

  • Bilingual in French and English is an asset
  • Superior technical knowledge in medical, financial, and non-medical underwriting
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong reinsurance relationships and negotiation skills
  • Strong communication and relationship skills
  • 3+ years of experience as a Life and Critical Illness Underwriter
  • FLMI / FALU designation or currently working towards
  • Commitment to continuous learning and education enhancement
