Job Title: Senior Underwriter

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter to join our Individual Insurance team at Equitable Life of Canada. As a Senior Underwriter, you will play a critical role in risk assessment for life and critical illness products, ensuring that our clients receive the best possible coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply strong underwriting expertise in medical, financial, and non-medical risk factors
  • Provide a superior quality of work and manage volumes of daily work independently
  • Provide a first-class client experience and comply with legislative requirements and consumer regulation
  • Contribute to the continuous enhancement of underwriting processes and procedures
  • Provide mentorship to other underwriters and share expertise

Requirements:

  • Bilingual in French and English is an asset
  • Superior technical knowledge in medical, financial, and non-medical underwriting
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong reinsurance relationships and negotiation skills
  • Strong communication and relationship skills
  • 3+ years of demonstrated professional experience as a Life and Critical Illness Underwriter
  • FLMI / FALU designation or currently working towards
  • Commitment to continuous learning and participation in education enhancement
