Wabtec is a global leader in the rail industry, revolutionizing transportation for future generations. As a Project Acquisition Specialist, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and profitability by negotiating and managing purchasing projects.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in purchasing and project management to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for improving project margins, guaranteeing costs, and negotiating with suppliers to achieve the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO).

Key Responsibilities
  • Improve project margins by achieving set objectives while ensuring proper execution and respecting delivery deadlines and quality requirements.
  • Guarantee the lowest TCO and negotiate with suppliers to improve profit margins.
  • Manage all aspects of the Procurement process for assigned projects, including needs consolidation, planning, tendering, and supplier selection.

You will work closely with project teams and commodity buyers to ensure successful development of engineering parts, qualification of suppliers, and adherence to deadlines. Your expertise in negotiation, cost reduction, and teamwork will be essential in driving business success.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in purchasing projects in the manufacturing/industrial industry or related professional experience.
  • Experience in a globalized industrial environment, with bilingualism in French and English.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to work under stress, and attention to detail.
