Job Overview

We are seeking an accomplished academic chair to lead our pain management research efforts at the Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine. This esteemed position offers a unique opportunity for a visionary leader to shape the future of perioperative and pain medicine.


Key Responsibilities
  • Leverage your expertise in anesthesia sciences and perioperative or pain medicine to develop and execute innovative research programs
  • Establish collaborative relationships with leading researchers, clinicians, and stakeholders to foster knowledge exchange and drive translational research
  • Contribute to departmental leadership and administrative activities, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives

Requirements
  • Hold a strong research focus and possess an MD or equivalent qualification in a related field, with significant expertise in anesthesia and/or perioperative and pain research
  • Demonstrate a track record of peer-reviewed publications in preclinical and/or clinical research, as well as proficiency in research mentorship and laboratory organization
  • Showcase national and international collaborations, as well as a commitment to advancing anesthesia research and improving patient outcomes

Compensation and Benefits

The remuneration package for this position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Additionally, the successful candidate will be entitled to additional support for academic and clinical activities.


About the Position

This Professorship is a 5-year term position with the opportunity for renewal following a favourable review. The successful candidate will be based at Sunnybrook HSC and become a member of the Sunnybrook HSC academic practice plan.
