Aircraft Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:
The IMP Group is seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing first and second line aircraft maintenance on the Cormorant Helicopter in support of our Canadian Search and Rescue operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on aircraft mechanical, structural, and electrical systems and components, including servicing, inspection, removal, cleaning, repair, installation, adjustment, testing, and certification.
- Conduct pre- and post-flight inspections and support, marshalling, parking, towing, fueling/defueling, and installation of required mission equipment.
- Perform ground runs of engines and auxiliary power units, where qualified and authorized.
- Fly as necessary in support of maintenance, ferry, and deployment operations.
- Travel and work at other main operating bases, deployments in support of operations at remote sites, mobile repair parties, and ferry flights.
- Provide on-the-job training to other employees.
- Attend training for trade and professional development and for qualification, recertification, authorization purposes.
- Sweep and clean hangar, shop, stores, and office areas, remove all debris accumulated by tasks performed, and maintain a clean, safe work area.
- Adhere to policies, procedures, and directives established by the Company.
- Provide supervision to other employees.
- Perform other duties as may be required in support of the CH 149 ISSC.
Requirements:
- Graduate of a recognized aircraft maintenance course or apprenticeship program and hold a current Aircraft Maintenance Engineers license or be qualified as an aircraft aviation technician within the Canadian Forces or equivalent commercial experience.
- Thorough knowledge of aircraft systems, including power plants, flight controls, dynamic systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, environmental, basic structures, and power generation and distribution systems.
- Knowledge of use of special tools and equipment, corrosion, and corrosion control techniques.
- Capable of reading and interpreting technical documentation such as maintenance manuals, work packages, drawings, blueprints, and Standard Plant Procedures.
- Ability to use standard computer programs and specialized ones as may be necessary in the performance of duties.
- Valid NS Class 5 Driver License, able to drive vehicles, tow tractors, and support vehicles.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment policies.
- Continually focusing on individual safety and the safety of others who may be affected by work and to fully comply with all Federal Health and Safety Legislation.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement, Learn & 8S activities in your area.
- Incumbents must be able to pass and maintain Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) and Transport Canada security clearances.
- The successful applicants will be eligible to meet requirements for the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
- Applicants must be able to pass and maintain a Level II (Secret) security clearance with the Department of National Defence.
