Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Welding Engineer to join our team at Seaspan. As a key member of our welding engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support to ensure the highest quality welding processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement welding procedures and processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct quality control audits and inspections to ensure adherence to welding standards and procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements and optimize welding operations.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to welding personnel to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Develop and maintain welding documentation, including procedures, work instructions, and quality control records.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in welding technology and apply this knowledge to improve welding processes and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in welding engineering, preferably in the shipbuilding industry.
  • CSA W178.2 Level 1 or 2 Welding Inspector certification (or international equivalent).
  • Extensive knowledge of shipbuilding welding procedures and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
