The Welding Engineering Manager will oversee all welding engineering activities in support of vessel construction activities at Seaspan. This includes managing welding engineering teams, developing and implementing welding procedures, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Manage welding engineering teams to ensure efficient and effective execution of welding activities
- Develop and implement welding procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Collaborate with operations teams to ensure seamless integration of welding activities with production schedules
- Investigate and resolve welding-related issues and defects
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of welding materials and equipment
- Provide technical guidance and support to welding engineers and technicians
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance welding productivity and quality
- Manage welding engineering budgets and resources to ensure optimal utilization
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in welding engineering, preferably in the shipbuilding industry
- Proven track record of managing welding engineering teams and developing and implementing welding procedures
- Strong technical knowledge of welding processes and materials
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
