We are seeking a highly skilled Welding Engineer to join our team at Seaspan. As a key member of our welding engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support to ensure the highest quality welding processes and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement welding procedures and processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct quality control audits and inspections to ensure adherence to welding standards and procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements and optimize welding operations.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including welding procedures, work instructions, and quality control plans.
- Provide technical support and guidance to welding personnel to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in welding technology and apply this knowledge to improve welding processes and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in welding engineering, preferably in the shipbuilding industry.
- CSA W178.2 Level 1 or 2 Welding Inspector certification (or international equivalent).
- Extensive knowledge of shipbuilding welding procedures and industry standards.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
