Job Title: Head Cashier

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Cashier to join our team at Giant Tiger in Anjou. As a key member of our store team, you will be responsible for ensuring a high level of customer service, training cashiers on point of sale and customer service procedures, and completing ordering and replenishment of checkout merchandise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a high level of customer service
  • Train cashiers on point of sale and customer service procedures
  • Complete ordering and replenishment of checkout merchandise
  • Responsible for opening and closing the store on a rotating basis
  • Ensure compliance of all checkout policies on a daily basis
  • Ensure health and safety policies and guidelines are followed
  • Ensure Loss prevention best practices are followed
  • Ensure compliance of all policies when selling Tobacco and Lottery

Requirements:

  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Supervisory experience an asset
  • Attention to detail
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a retail environment

Working Conditions:

  • Typical full-time schedule will consist of day shifts, two evenings per week, and alternating weekends with a schedule of 35-40 hours weekly
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job
