Payroll and Benefits Coordinator

The Payroll and Benefits Coordinator will be responsible for the complete process of payroll for salaried, unionized, and retired employees for western and eastern operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Process payroll for all salaried, unionized, and retired employees, ensuring compliance with collective agreements and procedures.
- Track statutory holidays, anniversaries, and holidays for unionized employees, ensuring up-to-date registers and compliance with collective agreements.
- Perform bank transfers and requests for payments, including taxes, union dues, and garnishments.
- Produce job records for salaried employees, unionized employees, and retirees, as well as students and interns hired during the summer period.
- Act as a resource person for payroll operations and support managers with payroll transactions.
- Process government remittances, including records of employment and T4s, and balance government remittances.
- Participate in the end-of-year process and prepare payroll-related reports, including grievances claims, hours worked and paid, overtime, and absenteeism.
- College diploma in Administration, Management of Human Resources, or Accounting.
- Accreditation to the Canadian Payroll Association is an asset.
- Minimum of five years' experience in a similar position in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in a unionized environment, with the ability to interpret collective agreements.
- Bilingualism (French and English) is required.
- Knowledge of pay and provincial legislations, as well as software such as Word, Excel, Kronos, and Dimensions.
- Analytical and detail-oriented, with excellent problem-solving skills and a sense of teamwork and interpersonal skills.
