The Payroll and Benefits Coordinator will be responsible for the complete process for the payroll of salaried, unionized and retired employees for western and eastern operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Process payroll for all salaried, unionized and retired employees, ensuring compliance with collective agreements and procedures.
- Track statutory holidays, anniversaries, and holidays for unionized employees, maintaining up-to-date registers and ensuring compliance with collective agreements.
- Perform bank transfers and process requests for payments, including taxes, union dues, and garnishments.
- Produce job records for salaried employees, unionized employees, and retirees, as well as for students and interns hired during the summer period.
- Act as a resource person for payroll-related matters, supporting managers with transactions in the payroll system.
- Process opening and closing of employee compensation records, prepare government remittances, and balance government remittances.
- Participate in the end-of-year process and prepare payroll-related reports, including grievances claims, hours worked and paid, overtime, and absenteeism.
- College diploma in Administration, Management of Human Resources, or Accounting.
- Accreditation to the Canadian Payroll Association is an asset.
- Minimum of five years' experience in a similar position in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in a unionized environment, able to interpret collective agreements.
- Bilingualism in French and English, both oral and written.
- Knowledge of pay and provincial legislations, as well as software such as Word, Excel, Kronos, and Dimensions.
- Analytical and detail-oriented, with excellent problem-solving skills and a sense of teamwork and interpersonal skills.
