Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Associate Physician to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care in an acute inpatient setting, working collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical care to patients in an acute inpatient setting, under the supervision of an identified member of the hospital medical staff.
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with acute, chronic, and complex illnesses, diseases, injuries, and functional disorders of all body systems.
  • Work collaboratively with attending physicians to provide continuous care in a team-based environment.
  • Perform services within the scope of an Associate Physician's clinical duties and responsibilities.
Requirements
  • Eligibility for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia in the Associate Physician - Acute class.
  • Canadian Citizenship, permanent residency, or the ability to live and work in British Columbia.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification prior to commencing orientation and maintenance of such certification throughout employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge and skills to diagnose and manage common medical problems in the medical and perioperative patient.
  • Confidence and experience in recognizing and initiating response to emergency situations.
  • Ability to assess and initiate treatment of acute injuries and illnesses in the Emergency Department.
