Key Responsibilities- Provide medical care to patients in an acute inpatient setting, under the supervision of an identified member of the hospital medical staff.
- Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with acute, chronic, and complex illnesses, diseases, injuries, and functional disorders of all body systems.
- Work collaboratively with attending physicians to provide continuous care in a team-based environment.
- Perform services within the scope of an Associate Physician's clinical duties and responsibilities.
- Eligibility for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia in the Associate Physician - Acute class.
- Canadian Citizenship, permanent residency, or the ability to live and work in British Columbia.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification prior to commencing orientation and maintenance of such certification throughout employment.
- Knowledge and skills to diagnose and manage common medical problems in the medical and perioperative patient.
- Confidence and experience in recognizing and initiating response to emergency situations.
- Ability to assess and initiate treatment of acute injuries and illnesses in the Emergency Department.
