Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Associate Physician to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care in an acute inpatient setting, working collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical support to physicians and surgeons in the Emergency Department and acute inpatient units
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with acute, chronic, and complex illnesses, diseases, injuries, and functional disorders
  • Work under the supervision of a physician to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients, and provide consultation to other healthcare professionals
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, and provide education and support to patients and their families
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and transitions
Requirements
  • Eligibility for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) in the Associate Physician – Acute class
  • Canadian Citizenship, permanent residency, or the ability to live and work in British Columbia
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
  • Ability to assess and manage common medical problems, and to recognize and respond to emergency situations
