Job Title: Head of Finishing

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to lead our post-production studio in Vancouver. As Head of Finishing, you will be responsible for securing digital intermediate and other finishing projects for the studio, managing those projects through the facility, and supervising the finishing team on a day-to-day basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic sales planning for the finishing department
  • Day-to-day management of the department, including hiring new staff members and supervision of the team
  • Implementing and maintaining procedures, best practices, and best workflows for all finishing services from dailies through delivery
  • Working closely with the Head of VFX to develop strategies for packaging services across the business to increase the company's competitiveness in the global market place
  • Leading sourcing and contact in Los Angeles (frequent trips to L.A. will be required)
  • Responsible for client management and care
  • Coordinate with Brussels, Paris, London, and Los Angeles offices on collaboration
  • Oversee the finishing department's budget and financial planning
  • Collaborate with Head of Marketing on marketing strategies
Requirements:
  • At least 10 years of experience in picture post-production that has included large budget international feature film DI finishing and delivery
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience in a well-respected globally recognized post-production facility, having full responsibility for at least 20 staff and the department financials
  • Proven track record for leading a picture post-department to increased revenue and growth
  • Solid experience with the US feature film and TV market, with established relationships at the studio level
  • Previous experience in sales and marketing at an international level
  • Deep knowledge of post-production workflows and technology, covering all aspects of picture post-production from dailies through to delivery
  • Solid knowledge of VFX and the integration of VFX during the finishing process
  • First-hand experience with leading innovation within digital post-production technologies
