Fort Saint John, Canada Brandt Full time

Brandt is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team in Fort St. John. This role involves the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry based equipment and attachments in a shop environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience in diagnosing, assembling, disassembling, and repairing heavy duty equipment. They will also be proficient in using related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the working condition of heavy equipment, diagnose issues, and perform repairs
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Document all machine information, actions taken, and time taken on work orders
  • Assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely and to accepted standards
  • Use computer applications and information systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis

Required Skills:

  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Required Experience:

  • Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is preferred
  • Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred
  • Commitment to customer service and service excellence
