Environmental Infrastructure Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and suitably experienced Environmental Infrastructure Specialist to support the development and delivery of major, large-scale terrestrial Transmission infrastructure.
You will work on iconic National infrastructure projects directly facilitating Scotland's ambitions to meet Net Zero through the transmission of renewable energy.
You will join an award-winning team recognised for our sector-leading planning and sustainability initiatives. Reporting to a Senior Consents and Environment Manager, there will be a high level of autonomy for your projects with the benefit of experienced support and guidance provided through the wider Team.
Key Responsibilities- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary project team to deliver Nationally significant electricity infrastructure projects from feasibility to achieving development consents (Town & Country Planning Act, Electricity Act and other environmental consents), and supporting our delivery teams through construction.
- Negotiate challenging consent conditions with statutory authorities and submit robust supporting information.
- Lead on and coordinate project optioneering and environmental studies to ensure all environmental and consenting risks are understood and incorporated into the development and refinement of project designs. Undertake environmental compliance monitoring and auditing.
- Oversee and manage external consultants to deliver proportionate and robust Environmental Impact Assessments to support consent applications.
- Develop, control and build mutually beneficial external stakeholder relationships (consenting bodies, statutory authorities, key consultees and government departments).
